The Hampstead Business Association is committed to promoting businesses in the Hampstead area. Here are a few of the reasons it pays to be a member of the HBA:
2012-2013 North Carroll Business Association Membership Directory
All members will be listed, without charge, in the 2012-13 North Carroll Business Association Membership Directory. The 2012-13 Directory will be distributed to every home and business in the 21074 and 21102 zip codes. This means that approximately 9000 homes and businesses will get a copy of the 2012-13 Directory, with your company listed! We’ll list your company in three places: In the alphabetic list and under each of two categories that you select as appropriate to describe your company’s products or services. In addition, we make copies available to local realtors, homeowner associations, the Town of Hampstead offices, and the Chamber of Commerce of Carroll county for new resident information packages. The Directory also has useful information about the town, town officials, school addresses, and phone numbers to help residents.
Advertising in the Directory
The directory is published with the proceeds of advertising sales to our members. Advertising in the 2012-13 Directory is a great way to really make your business stand out. Compare prices – this is the best advertising value you can find.
Monthly Meetings and Networking
We meet every first Wednesday of the month at noon at local member restaurant. You get a great lunch and you can network with other local businesses. We always have a guest speaker from the community, speaking on a topic relevant to local businesses like yours. In August, we have our annual crab feast and in December, we enjoy our holiday dinner at a member restaurant – always a lot of fun!
The Hampstead Business Association website (www.HampsteadBusiness.com) is a powerful tool to help your potential customers find your business. You can list your company under two business categories (your choice). Plus, provide us a brief description or list of keywords to make it even easier for your clients to find you. This gives you five powerful ways your prospective client can find you on the HBA website: any part of your company name or contact name; either of your categories; or any part of the words you use in your description! If you have a website, we’ll provide a link to your website.
Hampstead Community Expo
The Hampstead Community Expo is a popular event involving the whole community, showcasing local businesses, and with food and activities for children of all ages. Everyone gets involved! Sponsored by the HBA on the last Saturday of February each year, all HBA members can participate. (This year, we will allow non-members to participate, but members will get first preference for booth assignments.) The 2014 Expo on February 22nd will be our 31st annual Community Expo! This is a great way for local businesses (like yours!) to show off their products and services to the entire community. Booths and table rentals are available at reasonable costs. The Carroll County Times publishes a special section of the newspaper advertising this event, giving the floor plan, and listing all participating vendors along with articles about the HBA. Members may advertise in the section at special discounted ad rates, depending on the size of ad chosen. We also offer participants sponsorships for the event, with several levels of costs and benefits.
Bulk Mailing Permit
All HBA members can use the association’s Bulk Mailing Permit, on file at the Hampstead Post Office. The Postal Service charges a $190 application fee for a bulk mail permit plus another $190 per year to maintain your bulk mail permit. Membership in the HBA is only $60 per year so you save $130 if you are a member and do one bulk mailing per year.
Supporting the Hampstead Community
The Hampstead Business Association proudly supports our local community. HBA brings Santa to Hampstead each November-December and decorates Main Street over the holidays. We work with the North Carroll High and Manchester Valley High Schools in leadership and education programs, provide student scholarships, and participate in programs like the mock interviews and Career Day. Our members make all of these (and many other!) activities possible with their time and energy.
